Entourage email program for mac

I have a older mac which functions very well, with the e-mail program entourage.  I can send and receive emails with out any issues.  However when I delete e-mails they may reappear in my in box approximately 24 hours later.  I have lived with this issue for awhile and have learned to adapt to it. I am wondering if anyone has had a similar issue or a remedy for this issue.

What kind of email account are you using (IMAP, POP, Hotmail, Exchange, something else)?

The e-mail account is POP.

Check the Account settings. You can control whether or not messages are kept on the server.
Be sure to include the version number and OS version when asking your question.
