Hello William

Whether you absolutely need 64bit Office depends entirely on a couple of things that are described in the following article (either version will work on a any Win 64 bit operating systems so that by itself is a complete non-issue)

Choose between the 64-bit or 32-bit version of Office

Hello William,

My name is Sam. I'm an Expert & Independent Consultant. I see you want to figure out if your operating system is 64-bit or 32-bit. Let's see what we can do to help.

For Windows 10, you want to get to the "About" tab located in the System section of Settings. If you have a search bar in the lower left corner of your home screen, you can simply type in "about" and click on the result titled "About your PC."

Alternatively, you can select the Windows icon in your lower left corner, and then click on the Settings gear shaped icon. This will bring you to the main Settings interface. From there, click on System and then select the "About" tab.

Under Device Specifications, look for "System type." Here it will list as either 64-bit or 32-bit, so you can know what installation you need.

I hope everything works out for you. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Take Care, Sam

Hi William

My name is Andre Da Costa; an Independent Consultant, Windows Insider MVP and Windows & Devices for IT MVP. I'm here to help you with your problem.

Choose 64 bit Office if you are sure all your add ins are 64 bit compatible, some apps that might have add ins for Office might not work with 64 bit versions of Word and Excel.

If you work with large data sets in Excel or apps like Microsoft Access and you are running a 64 bit version of Windows 10, then you should probably go with the 64 bit version of Office.

Personally, I have been running 64 bit versions of Office since 2010 and I have little to no issues with it.
Best regards,

Hi William

Open the Settings App (gear icon on your Start Menu)

Go to System - About

At the bottom is a 'System Type' section

Is Windows and your Processor type 64bit?

If either are 32bit, then you can only install the 32bit version of Office

If both are 64bit then you can install the 64bit version of Office Pro Plus 2019
