Docx files won't open

I have downloaded a docx file from my professor but when I try to open the file an error message pops up and says "word experienced a error trying to open the file." It suggests check file permission (which is not the problem), make sure there is sufficient memory which I'm not totally sure how to check but I can't imagine that being the problem either. Is there something I can do to fix this? Thanks!

Thanks for the query and we are here to assist you on this.

Can you try the following steps to check if you can open the file?

1. Right click the file.

2. Select Properties.

3. Click Unblock.

If the issue still exists, could you please provide the following information?

1. The Office version. (Open Word>select File>click Account)

2. Check if all files meet the issue.

3. Check if other people can open the file.
