Disable SharePoint Search Results in Edge

Hi,

we found out, that if you have signed up with your Microsoft Edge Browser, the results from the SharePoint search are shown up in the Browser (Screenshot). Although there is no mix of the content, lot of our people are skeptical.

Is there a way to disable this funktionality? I could not find something on my recherche.

Hi Stefan5163,

According to the support articleTo help make finding info at work faster and easier, your organization uses Microsoft Search. When you search on Bing, Office 365, or SharePoint Online—and you're signed in to your work or school account—you'll get relevant results from your organization, including people, files, internal sites, and more”.

There are two places you can see work results in Bing:

  • ALL results page: if there's a relevant work result, it will appear at the top of the search results page, followed by relevant public web results.

  • WORK results page: This page only shows work results from your organization and never includes public web results.

If you want to disable this feature, you can go to Show all > Settings > Search & intelligence > Configurations, and then choose Change settings and turn off the toggle, as shown below.

Please note, once you change the settings, it may take up to 24 hours to take effect.

Regards,

Neha
