default file extension for contacts changes to .msg

recently i want to copy a contact on desktop i noted that it has been copied but with different file extension....msg

i go throgh net blogs and saw that msg is used as default ootlook message ......

however in past whenever i drag and drop my contact to desktop or in any empty folder it save as .vcf

how this can be acheive again

Hello,

Thank you for choosing Microsoft Community.

When you drag and drop the contact information from Outlook onto desktop, by default it saves in .msg format.
If you open contact > File > Save as > it saves in .vcf format.

yeah this is exactly what i am talking about

but it was not happening like that in past as i was easily selecting multiple accounts and drag them into any empty folder......

how this can be achieved

also there is a method of creating new mail message in outlook and use attachment business card and then selecting/highliting the vcards and drag and drop it to any location.....i know this method but i want outlook to behave as it was doing in past

I dont know of any other method in which you could create .vcf files by a simple drag and drop.
Can you check if you were using Outlook or Windows Live Mail?
