Creating Fillable Forms on Word MAC OS

Hello,

I am trying to create repeating fillable form fields in a Word Document for a contract. I would like one entry point, and the rest of the fields to automatically update.

The process I am trying is:

1. Developer Tab > Select Text Box

2. Enter BookmarkName, Select Fill-In Enabled and Calculate on Exit

3. Add additional fields via Command + FN + F9

4. Brackets appear { }

5. I enter the bookmark name, ie: { REF BookmarkName }

I am running into two issues --

1. The original Text Box never updates with the Default Text

2. The { REF BookmarkName } does not update either

I am at a loss here...is this just an issue with Word on Mac?

After creating text boxes, you must protect the form before you can enter information in them. Choose Tools>Protect Document from the macOS menu bar. Check the box beside Protect document for, then the box beside Forms. Click on OK to apply the protection.

Here is Microsoft's page on this subject: Create forms that users complete or print in Word
