Convert Word Document to PDF with only change bars as evidence of change on Final Product

I produce technical manuals that need to indicate where changes have been introduced. The method used for this is to make the amendment and mark the line with a margin vertical line bar.

We have recently upgraded to Office 365 and the Final: Markup functionality appears to be redacted. I can no longer save an edited word doc to pdf with No Markup, but with margin bars indicating where changes have been applied.

Does any one have a solution for this change in word functionality?

Thank you.

Answer
Answer

Switch to the "All Markup" view and then use the Advanced Track Changes Options to control what you want shown, meaning only the changed bars in this case. Save the document as a PDF.

The screen shot below shows which options you would want to choose in the Advanced Track Changes Options dialog box: choose "(none)" for Insertions and "Hidden" for Deletions.

To access the dialog box, click the dialog launcher icon on the bottom right of the Tracking group on the Review tab and then click Advanced Options.
