Connecting to d.docs.live.net - enter your credentials

I am trying to edit shared OneDrive Excel and Word files on my PC using Office 2013.  When the programs are launched, I see the screen below.  I enter the username and password to my laptop 3 times and the file is opened in protected view.  I click Enable Editing and again have to enter my credentials 3 times.  I try to save the file and again have to enter my credentials 3 times.  Sometimes the file will only open in a read only mode.

This state of affairs makes it impractical to edit the documents involved.  Any ideas please?  I've tried combing questions around the topic of d.docs.live.net, but haven't yet seen a clear explanation of what is wrong and how to rectify the situation.

Hi Alex,
Thank you for replying.

Empty credential manager and check the result:

1. Go to Start -> Control Panel.
2. Go to User Accounts and Family Safety -> Click on User Accounts.
3. In the left pane, click Manage your credentials.

Now look for the live account ID and password (for OneDrive) in the credential manager and remove it and restart the computer.

Open Word or Excel application and try to sign into the OneDrive and check if you are able to access the documents.

Go to File> Accounts and add OneDrive account.

Let us know the result.
Thank you.
