configure Office Online Server (OOS) to have office functionality configured in SharePoint

Hi all,


we have SharePoint 2019 installation running on Windows 2019 and we are trying to configure Office Online Server (OOS) to have office functionality configured in the our SharePoint.

 

However post configuration as per the Microsoft article we still missing the Office application new item under document content type.

 

The site that is created using New interface we see problem on this site collection, the site collection which are created using Classic UI the document content type has all the required new item available.

 

We have compare the site features and all other configuration in the working and none working site and there is no difference in the configuration except for the "New and Classic" UI.

When checked the OOS server for the health status it shows unhealthy.

From your post, we understand the option to create Word, Excel etc. files from the +New button are missing in your modern experience library whereas the same options are available in classic UI library.

Try clicking Edit new menu as shown above, check if you can select the Office apps icon and save.

If the issue remains, please try creating a new view in the library and check the result.

Go to document library settings >Create View > Standard View > Name view "All Items" > Check the option to be " Make this the default view " > OK.

Go back to the document Library, click +New, the default option will show as expected.

If the issue persists, we’ll suggest you post in SharePoint Server forum for expert assistance. Since you are using SharePoint 2019, the steps provided above to create view might differ as we deal in SharePoint online.
