Colour options for inverted values on a graph

I wonder if someone can help me.  I have created a pivot chart in excel which displays daily values on a bar graph which are either negative or positive.  I have then formatted the data series as follows:

Fill > Invert if negative and chosen green for the positive values and red for the negative ones

The problem is when I save the workbook, close it and go back in, the inverted colour option of the graph has reverted to white.

Hello,

it's a bug. But there's a workaround documented by Jon Peltier in his blog post 

Invert if Negative in Excel 2007

Summary: don't use a solid fill color. Use a gradient fill color with gradient stops set to appear like solid fill. Example quote below.
