"changed program wants internet access"

Original Title: what is this? please help!

I have the basic free office with word/excel. I opened some files before and it worked great but now I wanted another document and received a message fr mcfee "changed program wants internet access" and referring to winword.exe and the location is  Q:/140066.ENU/ OFFICE14/WINWORDC.EXE . It is asking me if I want to allow always allow once or block. what should I do? Is this a valid program/location for word?

Answer
Answer

As you say, you have the free Office Starter (not Basic). It is running in a special way, in a "Virtual" machine. The key indicator for that is it is running from the Q: drive.

Yes this is a valid question for McFee to be asking. It is part of the "Firewall" function. The Firewall controls what programs have access to the internet and what type of access they are allowed.

Your "virtual" Starter (word and excel)  absolutely requires allow always access to the internet.
