Change the manager of a Microsoft 365 Family account

I purchased Microsoft 365 Family together with a new laptop for my daughter, with the intent of sharing the subscription with the rest of the family. In the process of setting up her new computer, she activated the MS365 subscription. She has added me as an organizer of the MS Family account. However, I see that she's the one managing and sharing (Shared and managed by....) the subscription with me. How do I take over that role? I would be the one eventually renewing the subscription.

If the subscription was purchased on her account then she manages the sharing, the subscription is not transferable, it's either wait for it to expire and purchase next time on your account or cancel it now and purchase the subscription using your account.

I purchased the subscription at the same time I purchased the laptop from Lenovo. Just that at the time she set up the computer, she activated the subscription with her email account so now she is the subscriber and manager!

I had expected an email from Microsoft confirming my subscription via Lenovo but it never came. I also thought that the new laptop would require me to activate the subscription with the email with which I had bought the subscription but obviously that didn't happen either!

I had purchased a 1 yr sub. If I get my daughter to cancel it would I get a refund for the unconsumed period of the subscription (i.e. 11 months plus)?

Did you purchase the subscription in the Microsoft Online store? If you did , you have 30days to return it to get a refund.

You will have to check with Lenovo if they refund Office products , if it was on the Microsoft store it can be refunded.
