Change decimal symbol from comma to dot using Mac OS Ventura and Excel?

I would like to be able to change the decimal symbol from comma to dot on MacOS Ventura

Answer

Hi Nikolai MELESHKO,

Based on my test result, in Mac OS Ventura, I can confirm Apple remove the decimal symbol under Language & Region. As we can set the decimal separator in a preference pane in a earlier Mac OS.

In Mac OS Ventura 13.0, the preference pane is not available, and you need to use the command line.

You can use terminal command to the decimal separator is set to a dot:

Here is command: defaults write .GlobalPreferences AppleICUNumberSymbols -dict 0 "." 1 "'" 10 "." 17 "'"

Decimal separator = .

grouping separator = '

0: decimal separator for numbers

* 1: thousands separator for numbers

* 8: currency symbol

* 10: decimal separator for currency

* 17: thousands separator for currency

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated. I hope that you are keeping safe and well!

Sincerely,

Waqas Muhammad
