Can't re-add Active Directory to Azure AD Connect

I get the following error message when I try to re-add my AD domain to Azure AD Connect, after messing about with the Metaverse Designer and eventually deleting all the connectors:

"The forest xxx.local cannot be added because the attribute used to uniquely identify your users in Azure AD (mS-DS-ConsistencyGuid) is already in use."

Can anyone tell me what I need to fix this. We're not currently live with Azure AD or Office 365, so I can delete users if need be.

Note, the "Learn More" link points to the following page that does mention this error, but just says to contact support: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-au/azure/active-directory/connect/active-directory-aadconnect-design-concepts#adding-new-directories-to-existing-deployment

Cheers,

Tom

Uninstalling and re-installing Azure AD Connect seemed to do the trick. Seems to solve a lot of issues like this from what I've read.
