Cannot expand folder of Second Mailbox in outlook 2016

Cannot expand folder of Second Mailbox in outlook 2016.

I have to open and close Outlook 2016 a few times before i can access the secondary mailbox.

Most times i get the error cannot expand folder.

I have tried creating a new profile and running the scanpst.ex but the problem counties.

Any recommendations on how to fix this issue?

Is the second mailbox an email account in File, Account settings or a shared Exchange mailbox? If you wait a little, does it eventually open?

If it is a shared mailbox, are you caching the shared folders? Go to File, Account Settings, open the account settings dialog. Double click on the account and click More Settings. Check the cached settings on the Advanced tab.

If it is an email account, is it POP, IMAP, Outlook.com, or Microsoft Exchange?

I added it through the file>Add account.

It is an email account in Exchange online.

If i leave it and wait it still shows the same error message.

I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the office suite.

Hello.
Can you access to the account via Web?
If so are you able to expand the folders there?

how big is the mailbox ?
how much info in that folder?
is that folder inside a default folder?
if you move the folder to another location or to top of information does it happen?

Try the repair, in control panel.
Then id try a new profile from zero. i normally rename the Outlook folder and reboot, then create the new profile. if the account is backed up on the server then i delete the Outlook folder completed in
C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outloook
