Can 365 subscription be used offline?

I am senior citizen and new to subscription software, so please forgive any lack of understanding I might have in this area. I opened a Microsoft account and attempted to begin a monthly subscription to 365, but while attempting to complete the purchase through PayPal, I wound up in a loop that seemed to start the process all over again. It wasn't working for me, so I opted out.

Now, I have come across this opportunity to ask a question, and I am ready to begin again. All this having been said, I have decided to go for the yearly subscription and pay with a credit card.

The main thing that I want to know is whether I will be able to use the software when I am offline. I am often in an area with no internet connection, and this would cramp my style and require me to alter my work arrangements. Can you answer this for me? Thank you.

Answer

Hello William Yes, you can use Microsoft 365 offline by downloading and installing the apps onto your device. Once installed, you can work on documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and other files without an internet connection. However, some features of Microsoft 365 may require an internet connection to function properly. For example, online collaboration tools like real-time co-authoring in Word or PowerPoint won't be available when offline. To ensure that your Microsoft 365 subscription works smoothly while offline: 1. Make sure that you have downloaded and installed all necessary updates for Office applications. 2. Save the files that you want to access while offline to your local hard drive rather than saving them to OneDrive or SharePoint. 3. Ensure that any changes made to files while working offline are synced with the cloud once a network connection is re-established. By following these steps, you should be able to use most of the key features of Microsoft 365 even when not connected to the Internet. I hope this helps! Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you. Best regards, Juan
