BUG: Word Insert Caption UI Issue

When I click Insert Caption in Word, the box where I should be able to type in a label is too small to be able to see what I'm typing or what is already in there.

I can work around the issue because the box is functional, as in I can type in it, and what I type will show up in the caption even though I can't see what I'm typing. I can also add a label after I insert the caption.

I believe that this is a high resolution display issue (I'm using 3840 x 2160), but I'm not sure about that. I'm on Windows 10 (1607), and I'm using Word 2016 16.0.7830.1018 64-bit, which is part of my company's Office 365 license. I believe we are on the Deferred Channel for releases.

Is this the best place to report this issue, or is there somewhere else that's better?

Thanks,

Bobby

Answer

Note that if the Caption style has a right indent, or if it is centered on the page, the preview text may be difficult or impossible to read.

As you have found, inserting the caption and then typing the caption text directly in the document will work around the problem.
