But it appears to work on Edge - why is it not working with my preferred browser?

Thanks for providing the screenshot. Please clear the Chrome browser cache/cookies to check this issue.

You may also try using Incognito browsing window on Chrome browser to see whether the problem still occurs.

Since you are using Microsoft account and posted question in the Microsoft/Office 365 Business category. However, we mainly focuses on Office 365 Exchange Online services issue, regarding Microsoft account I would suggest you please post your issue in the Outlook.com forum category and there experts’ will further assist you.

If I follow the link to your reply - same issue - Chrome acts as gatekeeper and won't let me in

Your solutions are completely impractical, the links from the Office suite online to my account don't accept right click - launch with options, don't have visible hyperlinks so you can't copy them

So your idea is that I launch the link, fail, copy the URL; this is a work around instead of supporting the world's most popular browser - I don't think so

I will follow your suggestion and raise the question in the other forum - but everywhere I look users are experiencing the same issue periodically with your products.
