Auto-Forward Emails during After Hours

Hi All,

Hope all is well. I am running a 24/7 small business and I am looking for an auto-forward rule, in which the emails I receive during my After-Hours (10pm - 9am), it will automatically forward to an email address (that I use a 3rd party service in which it will give me a call on my phone).

After doing some research on the web (specifically from: http://dan.folkes.me/2011/02/outlook-rule-only-at-specific-times/), I got the auto-forwarding to work, but unfortunately, it autoforwards and I receive a call throughout the normal business hours as well (quite annoying).

Questions:
1. As you can see in the screenshots, I am specifying emails with time of "2021 02:3", "2021 03:", "2021 04:", etc. I'm not sure if the rule is basing it off of UTC time or my current time zone (EST). Any way I can see which it is using? And if the format header is using Military time or regular time?

2. The idea is to get only emails from 10:00pm EST to 9:00am EST. Based on the answer to Question #1, what should be the specifications

("2021 02:3", "2021 03:", "2021 04:", etc)?

Thanks so much in advance! This would be a great help to me!

Hello pcubed01,

According to the reference you provided, I noticed that the author created two inbox rules to auto-forwarding the emails. One is to assign the emails which meet conditions to a category and the other rule is to forward the emails which arrive during a specific time range to another email address. So you can try creating both rules to see if it works.

As for the UTC or EST time zone, based on my knowledge, the time in message is based on UTC time zone. Therefore, if you want to create a rule from 10:00pm EST to 9:00am EST, the condition should be from 3:00 to 14:00. For example, some part of keywords can be '2021 03:' or '2021 04' or ... or '2021 14'.

If it can't work, maybe VBA scripts can meet your requirement. To get more professional suggestions about VBA scripts, I suggest you post your problem in our Stack Overflow by using the vba tag. In that forum, you will get more qualified pool of respondents, and other partners who read the forums regularly can share their knowledge with you. Thanks for your understanding.

Best Regards,

Seven
