Address auto filled fields in Word

Good afternoon,

What is the easiest way to have an address populate when the corresponding business name is entered in Word?  There are only two businesses each with their own address.  I'd like the business name field to either populate as the letters are typed, or a drop box with the two selections; resulting in the address fields filling in on their own.  Looks like this.

Thanks,

Thinking about it, that following will be an easier method for you to implement.

  1. Having created a template for your form, which I named Reinsurance Notice.dotx, type in the first company name and address and then select it

  2. Then press Alt+F3 to display the Create New Building Block dialog.  Select AutoText as the Gallery and in the Category dropdown, click on Create New Category and in the Create New Category dialog, insert ReinForm and click on OK.  The name of your template should be visible in the Save in: dropdown, but if it is not, select it and then click on OK

  3. Delete that company name and address from the template and replace it with the name and address of the other company.  Then select it and Press Alt+F3 again and this time, select ReinForm from the Category dropdown

Check that the entry is going to be saved in the Template again and then click on OK.

  4. Delete the company name and address from the template and in the location where you want to be able to select the company name and have the address inserted, insert a Building Block Gallery Content Control from the Controls section of the Developer tab of the ribbon

  5. Then click on the Properties button for the Content Control, select AutoText from the Gallery dropdown and select ReinForm from the Category dropdown

  6. Save your template and then when you create a new document from the template, when you enter the Content Control and click on the AutoText dropdown, the two autotext entries will appear and you can select the one that you want to use and its details will be used to populate the Content Control

When you move out of the Content Control, the company name and address will have the appearance of ordinary text
