Access Database Opens as "Read Only"

I'm using Microsoft® Access® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2207 Build 16.0.15427.20182) 64-bit

I have an MS Access database with front and back ends on a network drive. It worked fine (for about a year) until about 1 week ago. Now, every time we open it (front end or back end) says that it is "read only." We did not make changes to the network location.

I copied the front end and back end to a folder on my hard drive and the problem went away. When I copied the files back onto the network drive, the "read only" problem returns, even if I have renamed the files or put them into a different folder.

Never mind. I reread the entire thread. You have both the FE and the BE in a shared folder.

My only guess at this point is that someone has opened the FE on the network and left it locked. Make sure everyone has closed their connections.

You can try rebooting the server on which the accdbs reside.
