Access 365 RunTime local installer without download

I am trying to package into my company's product installer the installation of Access 365 Runtime.

The Access 365 runtime installer has two problems

1) It shows the interface to the user for the installation

2) It requires connection to the internet. It is not self contained like the Access 2016 Runtime installers are.

I tried to get around both 1 and 2 by using the Office Deployment tool, using a configuration file that requests only an installation of AccessRunTimeRetail.

When I run this with the download switch, the resulting download is over 3 gig. I believe that its downloading every application from the CDN, not just the Access runtime.

Does anyone know of a way to download just the files for AccessRuntime using the deployment tool?

Or know of a way to make it smaller once it comes down?

Answer

Dear Scott,

Welcome to the forum here.

You can try the following configuration file based on the channel of the Office applications you are using to only install Access 365 Runtime.

Please note that the downloaded Office package is invisible and you can run the command to install it directly in your environment to see the result.

You can also run GPO to install them on the users' computers.

After installing the application successfully, users will see the following after they open Access.
