Accent Keys -

Suddenly as I was writing a text on Word and I was putting an accent on a word (Portuguese has lots of accents), I noticed it wrote 2 accents and before the letter, not on top of it, see: n´´os, n~~ao, I can't correct it, I don't know if I clicked a wrong key or...HELP!'

Hello Eldasa,

Welcome to Microsoft Community and appreciate your time taken for sharing detailed information. I could share with you some of my thoughts on this issue.

I want to ask what your version of Word looks like. Have you ever tried updating your Word? How did you press any shortcut keys to use accent marks? Generally, we use CTRL+' (ACCENT GRAVE), the letter to implement accent marks. If it doesn't work, you could try to add most accented characters using the Insert > Symbol > More Symbols command in Word.

Feel free to post back if you need any further assistance.

Best Regard,

Verify that Portuguese has been properly applied to text and that you are using the correct keyboard layout/input language in Windows.
