Windows Phone 7 – IE default search Google??

I got my windows phone 7, T-Mobile HD7. Repro Steps:

1.      Launch Windows Phone 7 Home page (Tiles)

2.      Click on IE (new IE pops up to enter the URL)

3.      Now, click on the search icon

Actual:

It opens Google home page

Feedback:

I’m expecting Bing to be my default search in IE. The bad part is, I don’t have any option to change that in IE settings. Is this settings controlled by device owner (HTC) or the provider (t-mobile).

Thank you,

Sathish (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***)

The default search engine is indeed set by the provider.  At the moment, there is no way for the end-user to override this default.  Many have asked for this feature, and I really hope we get it in a future update as the current behavior is anything but user-friendly.
