Hello Everyone,

Great news, as some of you have already noted the update is now available for the impacted LG E900 users.  We successfully completed testing late yesterday afternoon and were able to get the update online late this morning.

Thanks,

Eli

UPDATE 10/7/2011

Quick update on the status of the issue causing LG E900 devices to experience an 8018001E error when attempting to install the Windows Phone 7.5 (7720) update. Working with LG, we have created a fix that we are now ready to test and that we are targeting to deploy by the end of October to correct the issue.

Remember, this issue does not impact your phone or your ability to install updates – you will just have to wait a little longer to get the Windows Phone 7.5 update.

UPDATE 10/3/2011

Just a quick follow-up on this issue.  Late last week we confirmed the specific flavor of LG E-900 devices that are experiencing the 8018001E error when attempting to install the Windows Phone 7.5 (7720) update.  Work began LG at that time to determine the best approach to addressing the issue and at this time there is no new information to report.  We’ll update you as soon as we have more information.

Please remember this issue does not impact your phone or your ability to install updates – you will just have to wait a little longer to get the Windows Phone 7.5 update.

UPDATE 9/29/2011

We’ve confirmed the specific flavor of LG E-900 devices that are experiencing the 8018001E error when attempting to install the Windows Phone 7.5 (7720) update. We’re already working with LG to correct the underlying issue and we need to give them a bit of time to scope and then make the fix. You can expect more information early next week with more details.

For those of you who haven’t followed the thread in detail, this issue does not impact your phone or your ability to install updates – you will just have to wait a little longer to get the Windows Phone 7.5 update.

UPDATE 9/28/2011

We are happy to report that our teams have made positive forward progress today and feel confident that we now understand the root cause of this error and can confirm that only a small number of folks have been impacted.

We are still recommending that everyone continue installing phone updates as they are offered to you. If you should run into the error (8018001E) while installing the 7720 update, hold tight – as your phone will continue to function properly on 7403.

We will have additional information for everyone within the next 24 hours on getting you updated to Mango.
