when i try to update my htc through zune its says "a serious error has occurred, please re-install software 80040154. any ideas guys???

Hello Travisray,

Have you tried reinstalling the Zune software using the steps in following KB article? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929358

Before reinstalling the new package run a system update and restart the computer.
 
If the error persists please provide more details in what step the error is displayed and also details requested in announcement:

1. Phone Manufacturer
2. Phone Model
3. Mobile Operator
4. Phone Operating System version
5. Zune software version
6. Computer Operating System version
