windows 10 account sync error 0x80070490

hello,

I recently bought a Lumia 950 XL. I m using also some other Windows 10 devices.

on my Lumia 950 XL it says for my main account when syncing "Something went wrong" 0x80070490. all other devices are fine with the same account.

it happens in people hub, mail app. I cannot manually sync at all, I guess automatic sync schedules are fine.

How can I fix this?

Please, continue and select ‘Me Too’ in that thread…
Then you are subscribed to updates automatically. When anything changes, you get notified by E-mail. Furthermore, only one thread must be updated.

Did you even read the two threads? They're having a completely different problem than this. It's just happen to have the same exact error code, god knows how and why...

Shame real shame.

They're having a completely different problem than this.

Mhm. In both threads, the Microsoft account is not reachable anymore and the only solution known (to Microsoft Answers) is to create a new Microsoft account (which means, you have to reset your phone). The other thread is not limited to issues just with the Microsoft Store. If I missed an aspect of your issue, please, say so.

I have a problem on the listed devices!
Lumia 950 (no windows insider) 10586.164 windows 10
Lumia 1020 windows 8.1 last update
Lumia 925 windows 8.1 last update
Lumia 820 windows 8.1 last update
I've done all and the problems still exists;
-synchronized outlook (settings, email+ac... ) error 0x80070490
-soft reset error 0x80070490
-remove the battery (not on lumia 1020 and 925) error 0x80070490
-I did a hard reset, and afther all good (apps, mails...), contacts sync error 0x80070490
So, last hope is WDRT (windows device recovery tool), ok! I tried that, with all my devices, and start from beginning... region, user mail, password... on all my lumias!!! Synchrnized all... apps, mails.. but contacts still have same error code 0x80070490.
So, this is all about you MS!!!

This is all about you, Microsoft.

Microsoft does not leverage Microsoft for individual support cases. Why ever. Therefore here, your feedback drowns in the Internet swarm. Because your issue is Microsoft account related and I am not aware of anyone here, who would be able to look into accounts (I am aware of only outsourced ‘employees’): Microsoft wants you to contact the Answer-Desk in your country (even if this is a global issue). therefore, in which country are you right now? Then, I look-up the webpage to start this. By the way: Did you try a new Microsoft account, just to to debug this?

Reset the device, i did log with a different account, than is ok! No error!
I wiped all devices from my account , reset my devices, re-launched with the my old account again , sync error poeple 0x80070490.
Region Serbia...

So... Its MS, not me!
