Windows Live ID/Sync/Error Code 80072EFD

I bought a Windows Phone 7 phone last night and am having a problem, I think, with the Windows Live ID.  I am using the same Live ID and password I have had since 2003, and which I have also used for Zune since 2009.  The Live ID is tied to an AOL e-mail account.

Ever since setting up the phone last night, the "attention required" message appears under settings, email & accounts, Windows Live, and references the error code above.  What does this mean, and what is the phone trying to do?  I am certain I have the information entered correctly, and have double-checked it numerous times since last night.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.  Everything else on the phone, including the Gmail and Facebook syncs, are working fine.

Hotmail --> settings --> sync settings --> scroll down to server and write m.hotmail.com in it.

 

I am not sure why this was not the default server on my Omnia 7.
