While we are looking at a way of getting the Cyan update for those users on the Preview for Developer program, you can continue to participate. You may continue to take updates as you normally would as part of the program and when we have a fix for
the Cyan update we will re-release it at that time for those impacted users. You do not need to go back to Windows Phone 8.0 unless you are hitting the Bitlocker error screen on your device after taking the Cyan firmware update. That is the only scenario
that makes restoring your device back to Windows Phone 8.0 a required step.
If you know your device should have the Cyan update available, and you don't want to wait on us you are welcome to use the Nokia Software Recovery tool to flash your device back to its original build and then take the updates as you normally would.
Then once you take Windows Phone 8.1 and Cyan, simply hard reset your device and restore your previous Windows Phone 8.1 settings.
Before either option, please check the link below if your device has the Cyan update available to you.
