This wiki article walks you through the procedure of exporting your contacts from your Windows Phone device (e.g. Nokia Lumia) to your PC.
With Windows Phone, all your contacts are stored in the cloud. This is very convenient when you switch phones or lose your phone. Why? Because all your contacts and their information remain intact and will automatically sync to your new or reset device. This also means that you can browse your contacts and edit their details at any time on any device:
So basically there is no need to backup your contacts to your PC. Sometimes, however, you need all your contacts and their details exported to a text file on your PC. This can easily be achieved:
Open this URL in Internet Explorer (or the browser of your choice):
Login with the same Microsoft Account used as the main account on your Windows Phone.
Choose Export for Outlook.com and other services from the Manage-menu (see image).
Your browser will prompt you to save a CSV-file (comma separated values). This is the exported file containing all your contacts and their information. Save it to a location of your choice.
You can also export your contacts to an SD card (if your phone have a SD card slot) using the contacts+message backup app.
