How to Fix a MTP USB Device Driver Problem (Music-related)

Here's two different methods for fixing your MTP USB Device issue on your Windows-based PC:

Fix MTP USB Device Driver Problem - Option 1
  • Download MPT (Media Transfer Protocol) Porting Kit from Microsoft's official website.
  • Install it to your computer.
  • Reboot your computer.
  • Reconnect your mobile phone to your computer by using the USB cable.

Fix MTP USB Device Driver Problem - Option 2
  • Go to Device Manager, under Portable Devices, right-click on MTP USB Device, and then click on Update Driver Software to update the MTP USB device driver.
  • Select “Let me pick from a List of device drivers on your computer”. The list will show installed driver software compatible with the device. 
  • Select the driver you want to install and then click “Next”. Reconnect your mobile phone to your computer.

If neither of the ways above can solve the MTP USB device driver problems, you'' probably need to look for the MTP USB driver on Nokia's Support Site.

I went all the way to the end and picked the second one. It finally worked but you have to do it every time you plug in and it takes forever. Did the same thing on 2 computers, both Win 7. I have a new Lumia 635. It didn't even come with a USB cable. I see why ! Anyone know how to get rid of the first one, or make it remember ?

(1) Go to C:\Windows\INF

(2) Type "wpdmtp.inf" in search bar provided to the right of the address bar in Windows 10.

(3) Once you found it, just right click on it and select install. It will take a very few seconds.

(4) Connect your device to the pc.

Done.

I cant install solve MTP driver issue and tied both options unfortunately both are failed.Once am doing 2nd option I have getting the an error message as attached below.Can you please help me to sort out this issue.
