Importing contacts - Nokia 215/220/225

Hello.

I would like to know if it is possible to import contacts from a .vcf file in Nokia 215/220/225. These phones have any PC software available? Nokia Suite?

If not, well, I am moving from Android back to Nokia, how can I achieve this?

I know this thread is old but I know there are many people want to import contacts to these kind of phones so i will explain how to import all your contacts at once without any third party applications.

We need four things to do it:

1st-  Nokia 215/220/225 with SD card mounted.

2nd- VCF file (Contacts file which we want to import).

3rd-  USB Cable.

4th-  Computer (Windows,Mac or Linux) to work with.

Here we go

1- Backup your contacts from whatever device you have (iPhone, Android or Nokia) even you can export them from (Gmail, Yahoo or iCloud.. etc), but in the end we need it as one VCF file.

for example the file name you have is (Contacts.vcf).

2- Change the file name and the extension (Contacts.vcf) to (backup.dat), if you don't see the file name extensions then click here or search the internet for Show or hide file name extensions.

3- Connect your Nokia to a computer with a USB, you will get two choices on the Nokia screen (Charging only and Mass storage), choose Mass storage, then you will get a note on the screen with done button, don't press done yet.

4- You will get a new Removable Disk, open it like you open a Flash or thump drive, Search for a folder name Backup, if you don't find it then just create a new one with capital B

5- Copy backup.dat to the Backup folder on your Nokia phone.

6- Go back to your Nokia and press Done and disconnect the USB.

7- On the Nokia go to Menu-->Settings-->Backup-->Restore backup-->Choose-->Contacts-->Done you will get a note Restoring data contacts and the phone will restart, wait a little until the phone power on and loading all your contacts.

Good luck, everyone :)

How do you think, is it OK, that its so complicated to copy contacts to phone..? :))) Microsoft and Nokia  -  two leaders in people's logic understanding..:))))

  • There is NO Backup folder at all.!!!
  • Copy contacts via Bluetooth - Only 112 contacts can do it ( I think my grandma has about 700:))))

All other things are OK.! Flash, battery and so on.. but no contacts.! Its a torch not a phone.!

How do you think, is it OK, that its so complicated to copy contacts to phone?

Microsoft Mobile does not leverage Microsoft Answers as feedback channel. Why ever. Therefore here, such comments drown in the Internet swarm. Furthermore, since the introduction of the Series 30+ (MediaTek) in October 2013, Microsoft Mobile has not improved the import of contacts. Go figure!

Copy contacts via Bluetooth: only 112 contacts did it – my grandmother has about 700 contacts.

Which phone did your grandmother use? Perhaps there is a trick to improve that.

there is no folder named ‘Backup’

If there is no such folder, did you try to create it manually already, as suggested by Omar?

Be aware, though; one contact can have only one number and if your Android contact has more than one number, only the first one shall be imported.

This is a giant leap backwards as even back in 2002, a Nokia phone could store 5 numbers per contact.

This is really sad.

Ra.
