Unable to change search engine for new edge browser on my surface go.

The drop-down is blocked hence I cannot change my search engine.

I am using the surface go in windows s mode. However, with my PC I am able to change the search engine using the above procedure. Is it possible that s mode doesn't allow for the change of default search engine?

you are correct, one of the restrictions in S-mode is that it is locked to the Bing search engine.

in order to change the search engine you will need to switch out of S-mode
note:- this is a one way operation, you cannot switch back to s-mode.
