Suddenly my new tab page in Edge has no Top sites shortcuts...!

When i searched for the URL this is the URL i am getting directed to when i click the new tab button:

chrome-search://local-ntp/local-ntp.html

Customize your new tab page layout and content.

1. Open Microsoft Edge.
2. Copy and paste this to your address bar

edge://settings/newTabPage

3. Click on the 'Customize' button then the Page layout will appear.
4. Click 'Custom'.
5. Toggle on the 'Show quick links'.
6. Check to see whether or not the problem has been resolved.

When I click on the customize button i get redirected to the same new tab page as i posted in the image.

Hi GreaterBark2211,

Have you tried reinstalling Microsoft Edge?

1. Press the Windows key + I to open up the Settings menu.
2. Navigate to Apps > Apps & features.
3. Scroll down and search for Microsoft Edge.
4. Left Click and click on the Uninstall button and then Uninstall.
5. Download Microsoft Edge and Install.
