Pasting table from webpage to Excel

In Microsoft Explorer, I can copy a table from a web page to an Excel spreadsheet, and the table format is maintained.  In Edge and Chrome, all the data lands in a single column in Excel.

anyone know a workaround?

Hi JmHultin,

This link says:

You can use Smart Copy by right-clicking content and selecting the Smart Copy option or using Ctrl+Shift+X

Hope this helps.

Hi! My name is Anderson Souza. I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you, I'll be glad to help you today.

You can open a website in Internet Explorer mode using Edge. See a how-to in the link below and check if works for you:

I copy the table and paste it Word first. Then I can copy the Word page and  and paste it Excel with the formating intact.

This makes no sense as this worked perfectly fine prior to edge. Now you have to open another application just to get back lost functionality?

Thank you for the work-a-round
