Yep, having the same problem today morning. It was fine till yesterday.

Every tab or new tab crashes. On startup it shows notification for each extension saying the extension has crashed. It is impossible to go to Preference Page because that crashes too.

The following error code shows up: Error code: RESULT_CODE_BAD_PROCESS_TYPE

I am not sure if this is relevant, but the only major difference on my computer between yesterday (when everything still worked) and today (I am experiencing the same crashes as described above) was the update to Safari 14.

This might be absolutely relevant as Edge stopped working the minute the Safari 14 update was installed on Catalina 10.15.6. Before that, the Browser was working flawlessly.

I think it is relevant, as I also updated to Safari 14 in the morning and then it stopped working.

Can confirm that this happened after Safari update. Reinstallation of Edge does not help either.

I had this, too, also after updating Safari to 14.

After finding this post, and posts in other forums about the same issue, the solution seems to be restarting the Mac.

After a restart, Edge is behaving normally for me now.

Thanks, Andy_983, for discovering this and posting your answer here. I suppose I would have restarted my Mac sooner or later, but then I would not necessarily have thought that the reboot fixed it.
