Hi ,RegularV

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

If you want to prohibit edge access to the network, you can try to create a new rule:

Open Settings, Windows Security Center, click "Firewall and Network Protection", click "Advanced Settings",

Click "Outbound Rules", click "New Rule", select "Program", click "Next", click "Browse",

Find the location of Microsoft edge, click and select "Open", after selecting the program, click "Next".

Select "Block Connection", click "Next", click "Next", enter the name and click Finish to prohibit the application from connecting to the Internet.

To cancel the ban, you only need to select the application rules of the software and click "Delete" to cancel the prohibition of the application from networking.

I hope this reply could address your question, or if you will have any  question on it, please feel free to let me know.

Hi ,RegularV

Sorry for misunderstanding what you meant.

Your edge has been uploading to the network. It may be that there is a plug-in in the background of the edge or some programs are occupying the traffic.

It is recommended that you enter the networked safe mode first, perform a clean boot, and eliminate the interference of third-party programs on Edge.

please refer to:Start your PC in safe mode in Windows (microsoft.com)

How to perform a clean boot in Windows (microsoft.com)

After a clean boot, see if the problem persists.

If the problem is not resolved, it is recommended to reinstall Edge to restore Edge to a clean state.

1. Make sure you have another browser on your computer besides Microsoft Edge, such as Google Chrome, etc. (for reinstalling Edge).

2. Press the "Windows Logo + X" shortcut to start Windows PowerShell (Administrator) and execute the following 2 commands.

cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application" ls

3. Please look for Microsoft Edge browser version data (e.g. 96.0.1054.62) through the ls list.

4. Please continue with the following 2 commands via Windows PowerShell (Administrator).

cd 96.0.1054.62\Installer (Please replace 96.0.1054.62 above with the Microsoft Edge browser version data obtained in step 3.)

. \setup.exe --uninstall --system-level --verbose-logging --force-uninstall

At this point your Microsoft Edge browser will be uninstalled automatically, please wait for a while and restart your computer.

Click "Here" to go to the official Microsoft Edge website via another browser and click the "Download" button to reinstall the Edge browser.

Feel free to post back if you need more assistance.

Best Regards,

Hinata

Edge keeps uploading ... that make it's super slow,

I'm currently using Edge with 15 tabs open. Edge is configured to sync everything on this profile and to send all of the diagnostic data Microsoft asks for. Checking Resource Monitor, I see that msedge.exe is sending about 300Bps. That isn't going to have any detectable effect on browser performance.

Some extensions may be uploading data. Extensions don't normally run in InPrivate mode, so do you see any improvement if you use InPrivate browsing?

Check your own network traffic to see how much data is in fact uploading. To launch Resource Monitor, right-click on the start button, click Run, type resmon and press Enter. The details are on the Network tab. Which sites is Edge uploading to?

To minimize the amount of data Edge uploads, turn off sync and telemetry. There are diagnostic data options at (Settings and more) > Settings > Privacy, search and services. You might also want to restrict the amount of diagnostic data Windows is sending; those options are at Settings> Privacy. I'm not convinced that these measures will help a lot, though.
