Microsoft Edge Canary 107.0.1418.3 is crashing on startup (for both standard and inPrivate browsing)

The Edge Canary on my system is crashing.
I'm on Windows 10 (OS build 19043.2006) and Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4180.0
The Edge Canary is on version 107.0.1418.3 (I found this inside the Apps section of the Settings app in Windows; I cannot check from within the browser).

1. The browser crashes after about 2-3 seconds
2. No mouse events are registered (even animations such as changing of background color for buttons or showing complete view of vertical tabs don't appear) in the meantime

3. The same is true for inPrivate window

Also, I have set the previous session tabs to appear on startup (which is not the case for inPrivate window crashing though) and don't want to loose those tabs as they are not saved in Bookmarks. Can anyone please help

The same thing started happening to me today. I tried a repair and even tried to access the canary site and none work.

The Edge Canary is on version 107.0.1418.3 ... The browser crashes after about 2-3 seconds ...

I had the same. I could successfully launch Canary with a different profile, so the update may have introduced a bug in the 'normal' profile. There's a lot of that around. Try running:

"%localappdata%\Microsoft\Edge SxS\Application\msedge.exe" --profile-directory=Rescue

Then wait for today's update which you should be able to get from the new profile if it opens properly.

Meanwhile, if it does launch as expected, open edge://crashes and use the Submit feedback button to send the latest crash report with any other info you think might be helpful.

Hello skullsbymike,

Thank you for reporting this. I've reached out to our engineers and can confirm they are aware of this issue and are currently working on a fix. At this time I don't know when the fix will be released. I'll post an update here when I have more information. Also, thank you ¡Firedog for posting a workaround!

I tried this workaround but unfortunately, it did not work for me.

I look forward to Microsoft's fix.
