I am using Microsoft Edge on phone and since the last couple days, it has not been playing a single html5 video for some reason. Worked perfectly fine before.

I've been having the same issue across multiple devices. Testing with Chrome mobile confirms that it isn't a website issue. Something has recently changed in either how the Edge browser works with HTML5 video or a change on the video provider side that many groups use isn't compatible with Edge.
This is not a cache issue. Is there a method for this to be escalated to engineering?

I'm Jen. I'm an independent advisor and would happily help you figure this out.
Have you tried checking if there's an update available for your Microsoft Edge app? If it's up to date, try clearing your browser's cache, cookies, and site data by tapping on the hamburger icon > then tap on Settings> Privacy and security > clear browsing data > select All time then clear.
Let me know how it went.
Kind regards.
