How to open Google when opening a new tab

Split from this thread.

There is no "open link in new tab". when I left clk +ctrl.

Trying to get google aus to open up on new tab and on startup ( got the start up } but not the new tab

Can do it using ctrl and home button but not just clking on newtab ?

Why do you want to see the Google home page when you open a new tab?

If you simply want to search with Google, you can do that on the default New Tab Page:
- Go to ⋯ (Settings and more) > Settings > Privacy and services > Address bar
- From the Search engine used in the address bar dropdown, select Google.
- From the Search on new tabs uses search box or address bar dropdown, select Address bar.
  
  From now on, open a new tab and start typing to search with Google.
If you want to use the Google home page for something other than searching, e.g. to have quick access to Google Apps, you would have to install an extension that redirects the new tab page. This one works well: New Tab Redirect

Edge will show warnings when you install it, but each time it will show you how to allow the extension to work.
