How to fix MS Edge third party session cookies blocked issue when they are not blocked?

Hi tech peeps,

I am trying to use an application called Kaltura on Canvas online learning platform provided by my university. I can use it just fine on Chrome ( constantly ), but MS Edge keep giving me below message intermittently.

"It seems your browser is blocking 3rd party session cookies which are required for the Kaltura application. To resolve this issue, please update your settings to allow 3rd party cookies."

I have all session cookies allowed ( third party as well ) and specifically allowed cookies on web pages related to Canvas and my university in MS Edge settings, see below. How can I fix the issue in MS Edge? For now I am just going use the web page in Chrome.

Hello jackin,

thank you for providing this question.
I am a seasoned Windows expert with almost a decade in usage and support experience and hope to resolve your problems quickly.

I would always have multiple browsers on the taskbar to have one fit best for the task.
I personally use Edge (Chromium) , Firefox and most of the time Vivaldi.
As the new chromium Edge is just recently released it is possible that some use cases are still not perfectly working. I recommend to use the feedback hub application to report this bug to Microsoft as here in the user forums its rarely seen by a dev.
Keep your head up.

If you consider your problem solved it would be very good if you marked the answer which helped you so others can find and use this thread.
If this didn't solve your problem or you need further assistance please answer in this thread and i would be happy to help.

kind regards

F. Grobusch

Go to edge://settings/privacy and change tracking prevention to Basic would fix the problem.

You can also add each individual website to the tracking exception list if you still want to keep a higher level of tracking protection.

This worked for me because I still wanted to maintain the Strict tracking prevention, so I added the websites that have this problem, ie Canvas, to the exceptions
