How to change security permissions for Edge

Our laptop is new since Christmas and we until now we've been avoiding using it for some activities but the time has come that we can no longer avoid getting this fixed...

We cannot sign into some websites, including Facebook, because the computer is not happy with their security status.  We get an error that I have pasted below.  Can someone please tell me what I need to change and how to do it?

Thankyouverymuch!!!!

Attackers might be trying to steal your information from www.facebook.com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards).

NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID

www.facebook.com uses encryption to protect your information. When Microsoft Edge tried to connect to www.facebook.com this time, the website sent back unusual and incorrect credentials. This may happen when an attacker is trying to pretend to be www.facebook.com, or a Wi-Fi sign-in screen has interrupted the connection. Your information is still secure because Microsoft Edge stopped the connection before any data was exchanged.

You can't visit www.facebook.com right now because the website uses HSTS. Network errors and attacks are usually temporary, so this page will probably work later.

Hi, I'm Elise, an independent advisor and I'd be happy to help with your issue.

This issue often occurs when you have internet security software running, which is intercepting the connection between your connection and the website you are trying access, Edge is detecting this as someone listening to your connection, which it is essentially doing.

Do you have any security software running on your PC?

Kind Regards,
Elise

Where is the app that can vary the security of the web browser? Another browser on the same computer works fine.

Try going here edge://settings/reset and do a Reset to Default Settings for your browser.

I don't think this will do anything positive as I have not changed it from its default settings.
