How do I permanently get rid of the annoying Edge Bar

I hate it when MS shoves things down your throat with their updates. I cannot get rid of the stupid Edge Bar on my desktop. I don't want it (a) to appear when my computer starts OR (b) appear when I've manually opened Edge.

For (a) I've gone into settings and turned off the option to have Edge bar automatically open when the computer starts and it will work for a little while and then randmoly comes back. Anyone know how to get rid of it permanently?

For (b), I can't find an option to permanently get rid of it when Edge opens. Where is that setting?

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you using the latest version of Microsoft Edge?

Do you have any add-on or extensions in your device?

When you open Microsoft Edge bar, on the right down corner you should see x and if you click on it, it should close it. The menu should be like the following:

All that does is get rid of temporarily the small window with useless pieces of information. Next time I go to the computer that pop up window is back AND edge is again fully opened although I use Firefox. I have no use for edge. I just what this to STOP and for edge to be GONE. How can I keep edge and it's annoying pop-ups from appearing permanently?

And now Microsoft is rearranging the icons on my desktop that I place in certain positions. What is this nonsense?

I don't see any of this on my desktop. All there is is an enlarged, BLURRY section of the desktop. I've tried to disable the Edge Bar in Edge, but it doesn't work. And yes, I have the latest version. The only way I can get it to disappear is to restart my computer. But as soon as I open Edge, it's right back again, making Edge virtually non-usable for me. I hope someone comes up with a workable answer here because otherwise I won't be able to continue to use Edge for anything. I'm a very, very unhappy camper.

I'm having the same problem. I can't find any information on how to get rid of this aberration that stays even after edge is closed. All icons shove over and just blurry wide margin of wallpaper.

That isn't responding to the question. We know how to close it when it opens. What everyone wants to know is how to stop the freaking thing from AUTOMATICALLY OPENING when we're in the middle of something else. You've driven me back to using Google most of the time with this annoying abomination.

Hello,

Howtogeed.com explained it. Simply go up to the three vertical dots on the upper right hand of the page. Then when you get the menu, scroll all the way down to the bottom and click on "Hide Sidebar."

That doesn't last and it's so aggravating when I'm in the middle of typing something and that freaking thing pops up, covering up what I'm working on. There MUST be a way!!

I know, and there apparently is no way to get rid of it. It's an abomination that has driven me back to the Google browser.
