Green horizontal lines on Edge

I have Mac OS - Latest Version. On a high spec MacBook pro.

Edge (and only Edge, no other program so it is not the computer) shows green horizontal lines, sometime pixelated across some of the tabs. It appears to be random, in that some times it covers the page and sometimes it is not a problem. When the lines are present it is impossible to read the page. Sometimes parts of the page are covered and other parts (boxes of text or pictures) are OK.

The result is that Edge is uselessly inefficient and I cannot use it.

Hello MarshMoyle, welcome to the Microsoft community, my name is Luiz Cruz, an independent consultant and I would be happy to help you.

Regarding your problem, does this only happen when using Edge? Or does it happen when you are using other programs too?

Initially I recommend that you do a reset on the Edge to see if the problem still persists:

Start Edge;
Click "..." in the upper right corner and access the Edge settings;
In the left corner of the screen, look for "Reset settings";
After resetting, restart the pc and check the result;

I hope I helped, even more!

Thanks,

As I said in my original mail. This only happens in Edge. It does not happen in any other program. So it is not the computer. As i said this is MAC OS - Latest version.

I have reset Edge as you suggested but it made no difference.

This are a couple of screen shots of the problem.

Thanks

Marsh

Dear MarshMoyle,may be a video card driver problem, what exactly is the model and manufacturer of the Macbook pro?

Initially I recommend that you go to the Apple website and install the software that updates your drivers > https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204923

Reinstall Edge - Powershell

To perform Edge reinstallation via powershell, do:

Press the Windows + X keys, choose Command Prompt (admin).
As soon as you start the command prompt window, type: powershell confirm with the Enter key.
Copy and paste the command below into the command prompt window, followed by the Enter key:
Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe\AppXManifest.xml"}

Wait for the command to be processed and when finished restart the equipment

I hope I helped, even more!

I have a MAC Os.So I do not understand why you give instructions for reinstalling Powersell

Since this is only program with a problem it is unlikely to be the computer. Again the link you give is for windows. I use Edge on a mac in native Mac format.

Thanks

Marsh

Dear MarshMoyle,the procedure is not to reinstall PoweShell, it is to reinstall Edge.

What exactly is the model and manufacturer of the video card installed on the MacBook?
Initially I recommend that you go to the video card manufacturer's website and download it.

This screen problem is usually caused by an outdated video card driver.

Or you can try to uninstall Edge and install again and check the behavior.

See you!

I solved it, I think. I turned the setting "Use Hardware acceleration when available" off in System under settings in the EDGE settings tab. It seems to have worked. You have to click the restart button that is beside it.

I have not tested it enough to know if this is the real issue because it is an intermittent issue and I do not get the green lines on every page. It maybe that I just cleared some buffer somewhere and that it will come back but it seems to be working just now.

I just started having this issue, and I am sure that it is an issue either with the new BigSur version or the recent Edge update, as I haven’t changed any hardware recently.

Your workaround worked for me MarshMoyle, thank you very much!
