The most efficient way to backup your Edge Favorites is to export those to a HTML file, which you can import at a later date . . .
In edge, click the 3 dots at the top right of Edge, choose Favorites - Manage Favorites
On the resulting page, at the top, beside the 'Add a Folder' icon, click the 3 dots and choose 'Export Favorites'

The so-called "legacy" version of Edge (versions 20-44) doesn't store favorites as individual files and folders like you may have become accustomed to. Instead they are stored in a database that is not designed to be human-readable. So, you can't use the File Explorer to copy, move, rename, or edit your favorites.
So, if your task is to make a backup.... then DaveM121's solution is the best.
However, if you need to do more than just make a backup, let us know as there are some free 3rd-party tools that can help
