Edge: Using multiple search engines from within the address bar, use of search engine keywords

Hi there

Chrome has an option to set aside a keyword to enter at the beginning of a search query to indicate which search engine you want it to use.
Example: I have Google as my primary engine and then have set aside Google Scholar as a secondary engine. To get results from Scholar I would simply type "S (followed by a space) + search query" into the address bar. Quite efficient.

Does Edge have an option similar to this? Or is it planned?

Thanks

Hi, Thomas. Thanks for reaching out! I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you, and I am here to work with you on this issue.

In this case, you need to access edge://settings/searchEngines on the new Edge and check the Keyword column.

Basically you type in the keyword from the search engine you with to use on the address bar, then press tab to search using it.

You can edit the keyword by clicking the [...] icon on the right of the search engine, then selecting Edit.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if that works for you, ok?

Sorry, I found it! It is the same as in Chrome!

Keyword + [space] + search string

Keywords for search engines as defined in edge://settings/SearchEngines

Great!
