Edge suddenly opening links when not my default browser, can't disable or uninstall

Literally overnight Edge has co-oped my default browser choice. I can't click a link without it opening in Edge.

This is one of the reasons why tech giants are despicable. They undermine everyone's self-determination and personal preferences at every turn. YOU have to adapt to the software; not the other way around.

So, Microsoft, if you can stand being told the truth about your practices, now why don't you tell me how to disable Edge.

I don't want to use it. I never have, never will. I tried everything including deleting files under the Edge folder on the c:\ drive but of course the files that keep Edge running and opening links won't delete because "Edge is open in another application."

And YES my default browser is set to what I want under the Apps settings.

Change this new setting Microsoft is now enforcing in Outlook File, then Options, then Advanced. There's a new section called "Link Handling" where you can revert it to your default browser.
