Edge sucks! Why not let us have a choice?

I want my Internet Explorer back! 
Edge is intrusive, a waste of space! There's too much junk and not enough straight utility. 
Explorer was better. Easier. Simpler to use. As was Word. and Windows 7... 
The point of advancing technology is to make things better, more useful, and easier to use... 
In the matter of Edge, Office 365, and Windows 10, you have failed dismally in that endeavor. You have complicated every system to the point that it is a pain in the **** to use. 

There should be a version of Microsoft that is no frills, scaled down, and easy to use for basic computer needs. 
A simple window for the internet. The basic word processor. A simple system for the computer that doesn't have all the stupid frills of windows 10.
A media player. A camera and microphone for recording. That's it... That's all some of us need! 

I could run a business with just those simple tools! LOL 
. 
You have nothing like that as far as I can see. 

SO, GET ON IT MR. GATES! Stop making things more miserable for people!

I want my Internet Explorer back! 

Internet Explorer is still there, but it may be hidden. Press Windows key and type ie to search for it. Do you see Internet Explorer App at the top of the search results? You can launch it from there by clicking on it.

If you don't see it, search for optionalfeatures and open the Optional Features app. Find Internet Explorer in the list and select its box. Close the dialogue and try searching for ie again.
  

The basic word processor.  

It doesn't get much more basic than Notepad (a word processor using plain text). You also have Wordpad, which gives you some formatting options. Use search to find and launch them.
  

A media player.  

Windows Media Player is there, too. Search for wmp.
  

A camera and microphone for recording. 

Those are bits of hardware, which are often built-in to personal computers. If you don't have them, you'll have to buy them as separate items.

I couldn't agree with you more! I tried for days to overcome all of the glitches that affected me, but soon they were coming faster than I can solve them. Don't get me started on the functionality of the 'Settings' pages. So why is it that you are forced to use Edge? Can't you just switch to Google Chrome? The experience for me was that they were largely identical, but then the issues began. I moved my pointer one space over to my Chrome launch on the taskbar and bam, all is well again.  I'm running on Windows 10 and the latest Chrome.

I actually had great trouble with Edge. It was the sole reason my gaming laptop rarely ran correctly. I had to jump through flaming hoops to uninstall it, and then I straight up had to root my computer to actually get it out of the system. My laptop runs far better now, but even then it tries to reinstall at every update and microsoft constantly redirects me from what I'm doing to try redownloading it on Chrome.

It's horrible.

I completely agree with all of your points. I am not a computer programmer, I am not a network tech, I am not a gamer. I am a citizen just trying to be as efficient as I can for my company and customers....Windows 11 update just set me back 5 years and thousands of dollars....thanks for NOTHING!

I agree with all previous posts. Microsoft has made EVERYTHING much more complicated and all their new programs SUCK!!!
