Edge keeps opening new tabs when I click

Hi all,

Hopefully this is a quick fix:

Everytime I click a link on a webpage, Edge now automatically opens it in a new tab. I don't want this to happen. How do I stop it?

Does this happen on all the websites or just only on Bing Search Results? In Bing, they have added a new slider titled "Open search results in a new tab" so I wonder if the same is related.

Hi Sumit,

You are correct. It is only in Bing. I opened a Google search in Edge and it opened in the same page.

Where can I find the slider to turn it off? I had a quick look but couldn't find it.

I do now! :) I was searching through settings.

Is there a way to have that as the default rather than having to do it each time I open Edge?

It should respect your option once you have set. Do you have clearing data on close enabled?
