Edge Completely Broken

We've run into an issue where Edge loads to "Can't open this page" with error code 0x000C0DE1. This happens when attempting to go to any website, InPrivate browsing, and when opening the settings page. Edge version 120.0.2210.61

We've attempted the following:

1. Edge install/repair

2. Replace the Edge user data with a new folder

3. Windows & driver updates

4. Windows image repair

5. Disabled anti-virus

6. Rebooted the computer

None of these have resolved the issue. Other browsers are able to reach websites and their settings menu without any issue. This issue has shown up on multiple computers within our domain, Windows 10 and 11 with latest patching.

*Edit, for clarity, this issue started as Edge windows simply showing up blank. No error message or code just a gray/white page for any website or the Edge settings.

The issue appears to be with ESET Endpoint Antivirus modules but I'm unsure of which specific one. The resolution was to either adjust or create a new endpoint policy for the entire environment. When editing the policy go to Settings > Update > Profiles > Updates > Update type and change to "Pre-release update". If creating a new policy, I recommend duplicating the current policy to avoid losing any portion of security settings.

You'll keep these settings until the pre-release modules are officially released in the Regular update channel. At which time, it would be best to switch everything back to normal. Otherwise, open a support request with ESET.

Hi, Joe,
Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue.

Do you have ESET security installed on these computers? I found another thread with the same problem and it was a problem with the ESET feature called "Enable advanced scanning of browser scripts". Disabling this feature should fix the problem. You can see the thread at this link.
